Masks in classrooms for secondary school children
To: Public Health England
To whom it may concern.
I understand that Public Health England recently advised the Department of Education to recommend masks in classrooms for secondary school children meaning many children are wearing masks for 7+ hours a day.
As public health experts responsible for the health of all, including children, as part of that advice, I assume you reviewed the potential harms of face coverings for children worn for several hours a day? Please can you share the harm assessment you have conducted?
Parents are already noting worrying symptoms from their children documented in this Telegraph article here. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/…/face-masks-class-causing…/
These reports echo those reported in Germany as part of the Co-Ki study and other documented negative consequences of mask wearing linked here. https://usforthem.co.uk/potential-harms-of-face…/
Have you done the appropriate due diligence to be certain that your advice will NOT cause harm to children? Non-pharmaceutical interventions where recommended should surely be subject to a risk assessment when applied at a population level to millions of children.
As you will no doubt be aware, there are sadly many instances in history where non-pharmaceutical interventions have caused considerable harm. I look forward to hearing more details from you about the harm assessment you have conducted.
