I am writing to ask you why you consistently invite Professor Neil Ferguson onto Radio 4 and other platforms when his models have been cast into severe doubt. You appear to regularly choose his input in preference to other experts. In particular it is deeply concerning to see that his comments have once again sparked speculation about school closures. I am not a supporter of no-platforming individuals. However it is surely your responsibility as the national broadcaster to ensure balanced input and proper assurance of the competence of your invited experts especially if you present their opinions as fact. There are many experts who can speak eloquently and knowledgeably about other pandemic management strategies that do not involve sabotaging children’s health and education. The nation’s children are relying on you to be responsible and balanced in your broadcasting choices.
